Whether on the trail, freeriding or a relaxed E-Enduro round. The helmet construction pulled over the ears offers significantly more safety than a half-shell helmet, especially with lateral impacts. In addition, the EPP used at the ears, a multi-density material that does not lose its protective effect even with multiple impacts, is used in the rear of the helmet.
The fixed shield directs air into the large ventilation channels of the Root Mips, cooling the head. The Root Mips has a height-adjustable fitting system to adjust the helmet perfectly to your own head. In addition, it is possible to wear a neck brace. Protection, comfort and flow are guaranteed with the Root Mips.
MIPS
MIPS is a system that protects against brain injuries that can be caused by rotational movements during an impact. The low-friction insert allows for 10-15 mm of sliding movement in all directions, reducing rotational movement during a fall. MIPS thus provides an additional level of protection.
CERAMIC SHELL
All Inmold-manufactured helmets from Alpina, get this shatter and scratch resistant polycarbonate shell. The blank is stretched under high heat to the shape of the later helmet and pressed with high pressure on its Hi-EPS body. The material is characterized by several qualities at the same time: It is break- and scratch-resistant, UV-stable as well as antistatic.
EDGE PROTECT
Edge Protect is a processing method that ensures Inmold helmets have no sharp edges. This reduces the risk of injury in two ways: on the one hand, the hands are protected when handling the helmet, and on the other hand, in the event of an impact, the neck and shoulder area remain protected from scratches when in contact with the lower edge of the helmet.
HI-EPS
The inner shell of every Alpina helmet is made of Hi-EPS ("High Expanded Polystyrene"). It consists of microscopic air chambers, which optimally absorb the forces acting during an impact. Despite optimum protection, HI-EPS ensures extra-thin walls and slim helmet shapes.
INMOLD
In the Inmold production process, the helmet upper shell made of polycarbonate is "baked" together with the EPS granulate of the helmet body under high heat and strong pressure. This creates an extensive and inseparable bond between the upper and lower shells. Advantage: The helmet is very light and at the same time extremely stable.
RUN SYSTEM ERGO MIPS
The first fitting system with integrated MIPS. The RUN SYSTEM ERGO FLEX MIPS offers an individual, height-adjustable adjustment of the helmet. This combination not only increases comfort, but also ensures additional safety in the event of impacts with rotational forces.
